Now Hiring: AIAC Director of Finance & Administration

Position Summary

We are a fast-paced, nimble not-for-profit trade association seeking a self-starter Director, Finance and Administration to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and a key member of the leadership team. This role provides full oversight of all financial operations while simultaneously leading the association’s administrative and operational functions, including office management and human resources. The successful candidate will ensure fiscal integrity, operational efficiency, and a consistently positive member-centric experience in a high-energy environment where detail, speed, and collaboration are equally valued.


Key Responsibilities 

Financial Leadership

  • Own the complete finance function, including budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial controls.
  • Partner directly with the CEO to prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead the annual audit process, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure full compliance with not-for-profit and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive expense management and cost optimization initiatives to ensure the association consistently meets—and exceeds—budget targets.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis, variance reporting, and strategic recommendations to support decision-making and long-term sustainability.

Operations & Administration

  • Oversee day-to-day office management and operational infrastructure to maintain a productive, efficient, and professional work environment.
  • Lead all aspects of human resources administration, including recruitment support, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, payroll, benefits coordination, and compliance with employment legislation.
  • Implement and continuously improve efficient processes, systems, and controls across finance and operations that align with our nimble, fast-paced culture.
  • Champion a member-centric mindset by ensuring administrative and financial services ultimately enhance the value delivered to members.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional financial designation required (CPA, CMA, CGA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in finance and administration, with direct responsibility for financial reporting, budgeting, and audit coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience in office management and HR administration.
  • Experience in a not-for-profit or trade association environment is a strong asset.
