Tulmar Safety Systems Inc. was incorporated in 1992 and operates from a 60,000 square foot facility in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Tulmar delivers innovative engineered solutions for the defence, public safety and aerospace industries.Through a responsive and engaged workforce, we deliver products and services that help save lives.

Customers comprise major airlines, air-frame manufacturers, defence prime contractors, system integrators and government agencies. The company has a global presence, catering not only to the North American markets, but to countries such Germany, UAE, India, Australia, and are constantly looking for new interesting markets to explore.


Tulmar designs and delivers products and services that protect people – in the air, on the ground and in the water. We are a Tier 1 contractor and an integrated partner in supply chains around the world.

On the ground, we supply more than 1200 protective products for armored vehicle programs including vehicle stowage solutions, seating systems and crew restraints. We assemble and kit components and mechanical sub-assemblies for a range of vehicle programs including the MTVR, LAV II, LAV II-25A, LAV III, Stryker, FMTV, RG-31, RG-33 andTAPV.These products are exported to 8 countries all over the world.

In the air, we are installed on 15 air frames, including the C17, CF-18 & C130.

In the water, we are the primary supplier of naval flotation devices, including life rafts, for the Army and the Navy. Our tactical life preserver is used by all Special Forces teams across Canada.


Tulmar designs products for use onboard the aircraft, such as survival kits and passenger restraints, and we are a world leading designer- manufacturer of training products that meet the special requirements of the in-flight training industry. We design and build training products that replicate the functionality of OEM equipment with modifications that make them more suitable for training. Our aviation training equipment is used by over 30 major airlines all over the world.

At the higher-end, we offer turn-key management services for training center equipment so you can focus on training your people.


Tulmar provides repair and overhaul services to both the defence and commercial aviation markets. Our reliability, cost-effectiveness and service commitment is proven through successful delivery of long-term competitive contracts with Bombardier, Transport Canada and leading Canadian airlines.

We are a key maintenance support contractor for survival equipment to many branches of the Government of Canada and civil aviation.

Conveniently located within an hour of Ottawa, Montreal and Mirabel airports, we offer 24/7 AOG service upon request.

Tulmar is an Approved Maintenance Organization for the maintenance of aircraft components. We inspect, repair and re-certify a wide range of aeronautical safety equipment. AMO 67-92 and EASA 145.7269
