RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Saab is heavily focused on research and development reinvesting a significant portion of our annual revenue into new products and solutions.

SUCCESSES

For two decades, Saab Canada has supplied the Royal Canadian Navy’s (RCN) Halifax- class frigates with our Sea Giraffe radar system, CEROS fire control, and 9LV Combat Management System. We also provide RCN with radar and fire control support, repair, and overhaul.

Saab Canada provides the Canadian Army with our Carl-Gustaf shoulder-mounted arms, processors and displays forTextron’sTactical Armored Patrol Vehicle (TAPV), signature management products, and soldier systems in conjunction with Rheinmetall Canada.

In 2016, Saab Canada began supplying maritime traffic management systems to the Canadian Great Lakes Pilotage Authority.

Saab partners with Canada’s aviation industry to provide advanced airborne early warning and maritime surveillance aircraft to the global market. We are also a world-class manufacturer of fighter aircraft and a supplier of aerostructures. In 2018, with the support of the Swedish government, Saab was deemed qualified as a supplier for Canada’s Future Fighter Capability Program.
