Bell is the world’s leading producer of rotary- wing aircraft. The Mirabel facility currently manufactures most of the commercial helicopter lines of Bell. The plant is located just north of Montreal in Mirabel, Quebec; it sits on 152 acres of land and houses nearly 920 employees. Bell opened its Mirabel manufacturing operations in 1986 and has since produced over 5000 helicopters for delivery worldwide. Our state-of-the-art facility measures over 660,000 square feet.

Our staff is responsible for the design, manufacturing, flight testing and after-market support for Bell commercial helicopters. Furthermore, our basic philosophy of attracting enthusiastic, energetic candidates, hiring locally and training extensively has made us an employer of choice. This has resulted in a versatile workforce that is producing helicopters reputed as an industry leader for safe and reliable aircraft. Implementing advanced technology through precise engineering and high-quality manufacturing has placed Bell among the leaders in Canada’s aerospace community. Bell currently produces a mix of light and medium-sized commercial products. The Bell 407 GXP serves the long light single engine category, while the newly certified Bell 505 Jet Ranger X serves the short light single market, the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X assembly and delivery is based in the Mirabel facility. The Bell 412EP remains the medium-class workhorse of our fleet and the Bell 412EPI features integrated avionics increasing situational awareness and safety features. The light, twin-engine Bell 429 is the 21st century standard for light twins and is in service today with customers around the world—across all market segments. The Bell 525 Relentless is the world’s first fly-by-wire commercial helicopter. It conducted a successful first flight in July 2015 and is currently in full flight testing program prior to certification. The Bell 525 will be assembled and delivered out of Amarillo, Texas. Bell’s commitment to the commercial market is underscored by the on going development and support provided at our Mirabel facility. Bell has been recognized with the top ranking in Professional Pilot Magazine’s product support survey for 24 consecutive years. Our industry leading service and support has also been recognized by AIN and Rotor & Wing.

The Canadian Forces Griffon Helicopter fleet is also supported by Bell as part of the current “Optimized Weapon Systems Management” contract. Our Calgary Supply Center provides component repair and overhaul and spares support to all squadrons. The government programs team is also involved in major modifications and support projects, which helps the Canadian Forces to best utilize the aircraft. the Canadian Coast Guard’s rotorcraft fleet is now equipped with 15 brand new 429s and 7 brand new 412 EPIs. And that’s just a small sample of more than 1,000 Bell flying throughout Canada.
