OTTAWA (ONTARIO), Sept. 23, 2020 – Jim Quick, President & CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada, today issued the following statement in response to the federal government’s Speech from the Throne, marking the start of a new session of Parliament:

“Today’s Speech from the Throne was focused on the immediate responses to the COVID19 pandemic and we acknowledge the government’s willingness for sector specific supports for industries hardest hit.  It is no surprise that Canada’s aerospace sector has been disproportionately affected by the COVID19 pandemic.

“The Government has a willing partner in Canada’s aerospace industries, which represents 215,000 workers, to work together in order to support the economic recovery in a sustainable manner and Canada’s aerospace sector is looking forward to this fall’s COVID-19 Economic Response Plan.
