Updates to IDEaS Website – Information for Industry

February 14, 2019

In January, the government announced the first list of project recipients for the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program, including a number of aerospace and space firms. The full list of recipients can be viewed here.

They also recently made a number of changes and updates to the IDEaS website that may be of interest to industry members engaged in the program:

  1. Future Opportunities page – The program’s anticipated challenges and program of work have been posted for Spring 2019. Keeping an eye on this page will provide industry with advance notice of upcoming themes and challenges so that they can prepare accordingly.
  2. Past Opportunities page – All awards and selections that have been made since the program launch are included here. This is useful for companies seeking an understanding of what other innovators are doing within the context of the proposal, or as a way of identifying potential avenues for partnerships.
  3. Understanding IDEaS page – This page, which includes a new program overview presentation, offers useful background information to help inform stakeholders and assist with their communication about the program.
  4. Sandboxes RFI – Last summer, the IDEaS team released a Request for Information on Sandboxes. They have now drafted a response to the submissions they received and posted it on the “Past Opportunities” page. The original RFI is available here and the response is available here.

As the IDEaS team continues to provides updates, AIAC will pass the information on to members. For more information on IDEaS, our work on this file, and how you can get involved, please contact Jim Quick.
