AIAC congratulates CAE on $1B innovation investment
August 8, 2018Ottawa (Ontario) – Today CAE announced that it will invest $1 billion over five years in innovation projects that will maintain Canada’s simulation and training leadership. The governments of Canada and Quebec will also partner with CAE on Project Digital Intelligence, a digital transformation project to develop next-generation training solutions for aviation, defence and security, and healthcare. The Government of Canada will contribute $150 million to the project through the Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF), and the government of Québec will contribute $47.5 million.

Canada’s global aerospace leadership is built on a long history of innovation investment and partnering with government to ensure that high-quality jobs and technologies are created across the country. Not only is CAE one of our industry’s great innovators, but they are also a leader in the advancement of green technologies and the creation of a diverse and highly-skilled workforce. This announcement will take those achievements to the next level. I congratulate CAE on this important milestone and their commitment to furthering Canada’s position as one of the world’s foremost aerospace nations. I also thank the governments of Canada and Québec for their support of our industry’s continued growth and leadership both in Canada and around the world.
