OTTAWA (ONTARIO), November 9, 2020 – The Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) is pleased to announce the election of Lee Obst, Country Lead, Canada, Customer & Account Management, at Collins Aerospace, as Chair of the AIAC Board of Directors.  Mr. Obst succeeds Keith Donaldson, Vice-President, APEX Inc. Richard Foster, Vice-President, L3Harris Technologies Canada is the new Vice-Chair.

“I’m looking forward to taking on this role at such a critical time for Canada’s aerospace sector.  The COVID-19 global crisis has been unprecedented. One of my top priorities, working with AIAC, will be continuing to push for an Aerospace and Space sector strategy as part of the federal government’s economic recovery plan and a safe return to flight” said Obst.

Jim Quick, President and CEO of AIAC, officially welcomed Mr. Obst to his new role at AIAC’s Annual General Meeting on November 2, which was conducted virtually.

“Lee has been a solid advocate for this industry and we welcome the leadership he will provide to AIAC as our new Chair.” said Quick.  “On behalf of all of us at AIAC, we look forward to working with him, and our new board members, to ensure Canada’s aerospace industry emerges from the COVID-19 crisis in a position of strength.”

The Board acknowledged the service and contributions of Keith Donaldson as outgoing chair.

“Keith’s leadership over the last year has been instrumental.  Not only did he move our Vision 2025 priorities forward, his collaboration in dealing with the COVID-19 crisis helped ensure our association could serve our members at a level that exceeded expectations. We’re grateful for his hard work,” said Quick.
