John Maris named Defence Executive of the Year by Canadian Defence Review

Ottawa (Ontario), March 3, 2017 – John Maris, a leader in the aerospace industry’s small business sector and a former Chair of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC), has been named Defence Executive of the Year by Canadian industry publication Canadian Defence Review.

As an award-winning entrepreneur and a leading voice for small business in the aerospace industry, John’s recognition is highly deserved. Both he and his company, Marinvent, have received numerous awards from jurisdictions around the world in response to their exceptional innovation, leadership and service. John has also been a prominent voice for the small business community at AIAC and in the development of Canadian aerospace policies and programs, including as AIAC Board Chair and as Chair of AIAC’s small business committee. John is a true leader in Canada’s aerospace and defence community and I am delighted to see him recognized as such by one of Canada’s leading industry publications.
