AIAC Statement in Response to 2015 Federal Election

October 20, 2015

Ottawa (Ontario) – Today Jim Quick, President and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) issued the following statement in response to the election of Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party to a majority Parliament in the 2015 federal election:

On behalf of the Board and Members of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada, I would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister-elect Trudeau and the Liberal Party on their election to government in yesterday’s federal election. We look forward to working with him and his government to ensure that the important contributions that the aerospace industry makes to Canadian jobs and innovation continue in the years ahead.

We also wish to congratulate our Members of Parliament, both new and returning, on their election to public office. As representatives of the 180,000 people who work for and with the aerospace industry, their support for the companies and employees in their ridings is essential to the contributions that Canadian aerospace firms make in every province and region of the country.

Finally, we extend our appreciation to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his colleagues for their service and for the program and policy initiatives they developed in support of the aerospace industry over the past several years. We look forward to continuing in the same spirit of collaboration with the new government in the years to come.
